Mursalin Mahim

Mursalin Mahim is a Bangladeshi filmmaker and co-founder of SRM, where the “M” in the collective represents him. He primarily works as an assistant director and actor, contributing to both the creative structure and on-screen presence of the group’s projects. Raised in Dhaka district and connected through the same high school circle as his collaborators, Mahim became part of SRM through shared creative ambition rather than formal training. His approach to cinema is heavily experimental and chaotic, often driven by constant reflection on storytelling and the future direction of SRM. He is known within the group for his strong internal focus on filmmaking, frequently thinking in cinematic terms even outside production. Inspired early on by his creative environment, he developed a deep attachment to cinema as a process rather than just an outcome. His most notable on-screen role to date is the lead character in Ambiguous, a project that reflects his early-stage but evolving presence as an actor. Within SRM, Mahim functions as both a supportive force and an active creative mind, balancing direction, performance, and collaboration.
